About
Discussions around data visualisation to detect and predict risks in cybersecurity tend to focus on the usability of visualisation tools and reducing the cognitive load on the consumers. This often comes at the cost of ignoring important aspects of social and community-based security.
This article argues that there is a wider discussion that needs to take place about the narratives upon which these visualisations are based, and situates the discussion of security visualisation in a larger socio-historical context.
